Welcome to the Clinton County partnership with the 988 Suicide Prevention and Crisis Hotline. In an effort to provide immediate mental health support for all residents, Clinton County has teamed up with the national 988 helpline to ensure that help is just a call or text away.

About the 988 Hotline:

Launched nationwide in 2005, 988 is a free, confidential 24/7 helpline designed to provide mental health support, prevent suicide, and help people in crisis. Whether you're experiencing a mental health emergency, need to talk to a trained professional, or are concerned about someone you know, 988 is here to assist.

How the Clinton County Partnership Works:

In Clinton County, we are dedicated to providing local resources in addition to the nationwide 988 hotline. Our partnership ensures that county residents will receive tailored support, connecting them to mental health professionals and community-based services, including:

  • Immediate, crisis intervention services
  • Local mental health resources and counseling
  • Connection to long-term care options
  • Emotional support for individuals in distress

Available Support Services:

When you dial or text 988, you will be immediately connected to a trained crisis counselor who will assistance with:

  • Individuals dealing with emotional distress
  • Coping with mental health challenges
  • Understanding options for ongoing treatment and support
